Peter Jackson recently announced that British actor Stephen Fry is joining The Hobbit.
Fry (V for Vendetta) will be playing the Master of Laketown in the two-part epic prequel to The Lord of the Rings. He will also appear in Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes sequel as Sherlock’s brother, Mycroft.
“In addition to his writing skills, he’s a terrific actor and will create a very memorable Master for us,” Jackson said.
Two other new cast members were announced: Ryan Gage as Alfrid, the Master of Laketown’s servant, and Conan Stevens as an oversized Orc called Azog.
The actors joins a star-studded cast comprised of returning Lord of the Rings members, including Elijah Wood, Ian McKellen, Cate Blanchett and Orlando Bloom.
