Simba and Nala are back. Disney recently confirmed the fall release of The Lion King 3D.
This will be the first 3D release of a hand-drawn film from Disney, giving the classic kids’ movie a fresh look to a new generation of viewers.
The original 2D film grossed over $783 million worldwide and remains the highest-grossing hand-drawn film of all time.
The Lion King re-release continues a trend of 3D films taking back the big screen. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Titanic and Star Wars are also scheduled to return to theaters in 3D in 2012.
