The Pixies Want to Record New Album
According to The Guardian, the Pixies want to record a new album once their current tour concludes.
After splitting in 1993, the group reunited in 2004 and has been touring since then. Although they’ve discussed a new album, drummer David Lovering said, “nothing’s come to fruition” in an interview with Spinner.
However, Joey Santiago said when this tour finishes, “it’ll be time … Making a record will be in the forefront … We’ve definitely gelled as a unit and hopefully when we can all bury the hatchet — and we have — maybe we’ll go in there and hope for the best.”
We can’t wait for some new Pixies material, and it seems we’re not the only ones. “Bono even asked. Remember that?” said Santiago. “He’s like, ‘Please make a record!’ Goddamn, we can’t leave that unturned. That would frustrate me. It would. I think we should do it. But it’s up to everybody.”
