Polyphonic Spree's Tim DeLaughter Announces New Band

Polyphonic Spree frontman Tim DeLaughter has just announced his new band, Preteen Zenith.

The project started humbly as a few demo recordings and jam session between DeLaughter and former collaborator Philip E. Karnats, but before they knew it, what was originally intended to be a DeLaughter solo record produced by Karnats became something else altogether. The duo brought in Spree members Jason Garner (drums) and Dylan Silvers (guitar) to augment the sound, and Preteen Zenith was born.

The band is set to make their live debut on July 23 as part of a festival at the Granada Theater in Dallas, curated by Gorilla Vs. Bear blogger Chris Cantalini. No release dates for recorded material have been nailed down yet, but releases from Preteen Zenith, as well as The Polyphonic Spree, are expected to be unveiled with the re-launch of DeLaughter’s Good Records Recordings in summer 2011.
