YouTube announced today that the site will begin adding 3,000 movies for users to rent.
The movies will range from short trailers and movie parodies to full-length feature films and will be accompanied by reviews and behind-the-scenes extras.
In addition to the movies, the site is also building upon existing partnership through initiatives such as YouTube NextUp and YouTube Creator Institute. These grant more resources to creators to increase the amount and value of original content available.
YouTube, which hosts about 2 billion views a day, is working to become the only video platform that you’ll need.
“By expanding our content partnerships worldwide and stimulating the success of budding filmmakers, artists and entrepreneurs, we’ll ensure that YouTube remains the best place for the world to see and discover rich talent.”
