Amy Winehouse announced Tuesday morning that she would be canceling the remainder of her 12-city European tour.
The singer arrived at her Belgrade performance this weekend an hour late and was seemingly so disoriented she was unable to put on a proper show. Her fans were pretty upset, and the artist was booed throughout the set. In response to fan backlash, the singer canceled the next two shows and then the remainder of her tour dates.
Winehouse’s publicist released the following in a statement:
“Despite feeling sure that she wanted to fulfill these commitments, she has agreed with management that she cannot perform to the best of her ability and will return home. She would like to apologize to fans expecting to see her at the shows but feels that this is the right thing to do.”
