Best Coast to Record a New Album in the Fall
Bethany Cosentino of Best Coast recently talked to Rolling Stone about the group’s sophomore album. She said they will begin recording in October when they have time off from touring behind their successful debut, Crazy For You.
Wanting to take a different approach to songwriting than the first record, the singer said she’s been drawing from “older country music” influences like Loretta Lynn and Johnny Crawford.
Just don’t think Cosentino is trading beaches for honky-tonks. “It’s not going to be a country record at all. I think a lot of people are getting scared when I say that,” she said. “They’re like ’Don’t become a country band!’ That’s not going to happen.”
