Damon Albarn to Perform Opera at Cultural Olympiad

In a recent interview with The Guardian Damon Albarn announced that, after its run at the Manchester International Festival, his theatrical production, Dr. Dee: An English Opera, will play next year at the London Coliseum as part of the Cultural Olympiad.

Albarn goes on to say that he is planning to visit the Democratic Republic of the Congo for another music-rooted project and that his new trio — consisting of Albarn, Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea and Fela Kuti drummer Tony Allen — is currently fleshing out some instrumental tracks.
