It’s been a little over two years since the Brooklyn-based experimental rock outfit Dirty Projectors released Bitte Orca, a record that quickly landed a spot on multiple album of the year lists. Pairing frontman Dave Longstreth’s cryptic songwriting with bandmates Amber Coffman and Angel Deradoorian’s soaring vocals, Bitte Orca was an accessible departure from Longstreth’s previous releases under the Dirty Projectors moniker, opening the doors to a slew of critical praise.
Fans who have been anxiously awaiting some fresh material from the art-driven collective can breathe a sigh of relief, as it seems a new record is on the way. According to the group’s Facebook page, the band is planning on heading into the studio this summer. The post reads,
hey all, dave longstreth has been working on new songs since january, and we are all getting really psyched! the band is getting together later this month to hang, listen and prepare. recording this summer. so excited for the next chapter! thanks so much for all your support
As of now, there are no hints as to when the new project is scheduled for release.
