Donald Sutherland Cast in The Hunger Games

Lionsgate announced yesterday morning that Donald Sutherland has officially been cast in The Hunger Games. He will play President Snow, the ruler of Panem.

The film is an adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ best-selling trilogy. Directed by Gary Ross, The Hunger Games has already begun filming in North Carolina.

Sutherland will join the cast that includes Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Lenny Kravitz, Elizabeth Banks, Woody Harrelson and Stanley Tucci.

The Hunger Games is set to release March 23, 2012.
