Elijah Wood To Star In New FX Comedy Series

With the success of shows like It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia and The League, FX has made a name for itself in the quirky comedy field.

Now the network is adding an American version of the Australian hit Wilfred to their roster, and the star of the show is everyone’s favorite hobbit, Elijah Wood.

The show is centered around a man, played by Wood, who sees his dog as a man dressed in a dog costume, while the rest of the world only sees a regular dog.

Wood told Celebuzz, “I am attracted to its uniqueness. It was the funniest thing I have ever read or seen on television.”

In the first episode, Wood’s character, Ryan, fails at an attempted suicide and finds himself at a crumbling point in life. That’s when his dog morphs into a human and advises him “for better or for worse.”

The show kicks off Jun. 23 on FX.
