While Lord of the Rings fans all over the world have to wait until December 2012 for the highly anticipated prequel The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, Peter Jackson has given us a sneak peek at the film with three photos from the set.
The first image shows Martin Freeman’s first appearance as Bilbo Baggins. “He fits the ears, and he’s got some very nice feet,” Jackson told Entertainment Weekly.
The second photo depicts Ian McKellen as Gandalf, musing over his pipe in typical fashion. The final still from the set shows the director in discussion with Freeman, sitting at Bilbo’s kitchen table.
Head over to Entertainment Weekly for the exclusive images.
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is set to release in theaters Dec. 14, 2012.
