Kate Winslet Signs On For Labor Day Adaptation
Kate Winslet has signed on to play a forlorn mother who harbors a hardened criminal in the film adaption of Joyce Maynard’s 2009 novel Labor Day.
The film’s director Jason Reitman is known for his success with witty films like Juno, Thank You For Smoking and Up In The Air.
Winslet will star alongside Josh Brolin, who plays the murderer taken in by the family. Set in the ’80s, the film features a romantic twist, and the characters must decide what to do about Brolin as they grow closer and the thriller unfolds.
Labor Day will start shooting in New England in 2012.
