Paramount Pictures is currently developing a project that will focus on one of the greatest love affairs in Hollywood history.
The studio has optioned Sam Kashner and Nancy Schoenberger’s book Furious Love, about the romance between Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, which was published last year by HarperCollins.
The project is set to be directed by Martin Scorsese. It will focus on the legendary romance between Taylor and Burton, who met on the set of 1963’s Cleopatra. A screenwriter has yet to be hired.
Scorsese, who is an enthusiastic Hollywood historian, is currently working on a Frank Sinatra project, set to release in 2013.
