Parks & Rec Star Nick Offerman Grows A Beard For The Environment

Nick Offerman, the resident mustache aficionado of Parks and Recreation, is growing out his beard this week and encouraging other men to do the same. The reason? Getting scruffy saves the planet.

The actor is partnering with Budweiser for the “Grow One. Save a Million.” program, which looks to save water by getting guys to stop shaving in the week leading up to Sunday’s World Environment Day. According to the campaign, a typical shave uses between 3-10 gallons of water. Men can save around 5 gallons every time they skip a shave—as if being rugged wasn’t its own reward.
