Red Hot Chili Peppers Announce Details of New Album

The Red Hot Chili Peppers have released details on their upcoming studio album.

According to bassist Flea’s Twitter page, the band will release I’m With You on Aug. 30.

The original working title was Dr. Johnny Skin’s Disproportionately Rambunctious Polar Express Machine-head, inspired by a friend’s acid trip.

RHCP’s tenth studio album is produced by Rick Rubin (Slayer, Metallica, Johnny Cash). It marks the first to feature guitarist Josh Klinghoffer, formerly of Warpaint, who replaced John Frusciante after he quit the band in 2009.

The band will release the first I’m With You single, “The Adventures of Raindance Maggie,” on July 18.
