Summerfest Announces Complete 2011 Lineup

Milwaukee’s Summerfest is the big kahuna of music festivals. The 11-day event boasts over 700 bands shared between 11 stages, and it’s been rightfully tagged the world’s largest music festival. This year’s festival will run from June 29-July 10.

With so much space to fill, there’s plenty of room for tons of big name headliners. Summerfest announced their finalized lineup this week and they’ve booked an incredibly wide variety of performers this year. Rappers Kanye West and Kid Cudi will be joined by rockers The Flaming Lips, hip-hop trio De La Soul and singer Jazon Mraz.

Also on the bill are alt-country group Old 97’s, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, Dropkick Murphys, Goo Goo Dolls, Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, Dashboard Confessional, Meat Puppets, 311, Britney Spears, Nicki Minaj, Toots and the Maytals, Ben Harper and George Clinton. Old-school acts like Meat Loaf, REO Speedwagon, Styx and Blue Oyster Cult will also get some stage time.
