The Flaming Lips and Edward Sharpe Perform at a Cemetery

Taking their lyrics literally, The Flaming Lips and Edward Sharpe recently performed “Do You Realize” at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery.

The 6 a.m. show featured both bands and the audience singing, “Do you realize that everyone you know someday will die?” on repeat — a tad eerie, but not out of character for The Flaming Lips.

Dee Dee and Johnny Ramone are buried at The Hollywood Forever Cemetery, and it’s where George Harrison was cremated before his ashes were scattered along the Ganges river.
