Over the course of their nearly eight years as a band, Canadian rockers Wolf Parade haven’t relied solely on their trademark synth-led guitar lines. With three LP’s under their belts, the group has taken a stab at everything from prog-rock to fuzzy lo-fi recordings, while still managing to attract a devoted legion of fans.
So when the group announced in November that they would be taking a semi-permanent hiatus, fans were understandably curious as to whether or not they would slowly slide behind the indie rock curtain or go out with a bang.
Lead singer Spencer Krug, along with Dan Boeckner, Arlen Thompson and Dante DeCaro, proved the latter when they took advantage of the band’s final performance on Tuesday by performing nearly all of the Vancouver crowd’s favorite tracks and closed with Bob Dylan’s “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door.” You can check out the setlist, as well as watch videos of the group’s final performance, below.
