Watch Damon Albarn Perform a New Song from His Opera

Damon Albarn recently appeared on the BBC’s Andrew Marr Show to perform a song from the score he’s written for Rufus Norris’ upcoming Dr Dee opera.

Based on the life of a 16th century scientist, the opera serves as a bit of a history lesson, telling of a “kingdom of broken hearts.”

The Gorillaz head honcho had a cellist and a guitarist backing him up for the BBC gig—it will be interesting to see what he brings out for the actual showing.
