Though her turn as Hermione in the Harry Potter films has finally ended, Emma Watson has signed on to a new project with one of Hollywood’s biggest directors.
The actress, ComingSoon.net reports, has been cast in Guillermo del Toro’s remake of the classic fairytale Beauty and the Beast. Denise Di Novi, producer of Crazy, Stupid Love., revealed that she is developing an adaptation of the film.
Del Toro is currently working on Pacific Rim, starring Charlie Day, Charlie Hunnam and Idris Elba. The film is set to release July 12, 2013.
Watson will next appear in My Week with Marilyn, out this year, and The Perks of Being a Wallflower, out in 2012.
No details have emerged yet regarding when production on Beauty and the Beast will begin.
