Listen to the Flaming Lips and Lightning Bolt Collaboration

Providence-based art rock group Lightning Bolt has joined experimental phenoms The Flaming Lips to put together a four-track release. The songs are a little different than the typical fare either band is known for. Being together has pulled out a more adventurous side. The Flaming Lips have taken the helm on the first two songs of the release and handed over creative control to Lightning Bolt for the second.

There’s really no way to describe the sound the blending of these groups has created. You’ll just have to hear it for yourself by streaming the tracks below.

Psych Explorations of the Future Heart has made all of the tracks available. You can also watch the kinda violent, not-so-safe-for-work video that the groups released earlier this week.

“I’m Working at NASA on Acid”

“I Want to Get High But I Don’t Want Brain Damage”

“NASA’s Final Acid Bath”

“I Want to Get Damaged But I Won’t Say Hi”
