The world has been dark, cold and utterly lacking in peppermint-colored clothing since The White Stripes announced they were breaking up earlier this year. But thankfully, the group has released some previously unreleased material for us to hear.
Mr. Jack White has pulled two of the band’s old cover songs from the Third Man vault and pressed them to vinyl for members of the label’s record club. The band took a crack at Love’s “Signed D.C.” and Otis Redding’s “I’ve Been Loving You Too Long” back in 1997.
