New Julius Caesar Film In The Works
Warner Bros. has acquired a pitch for an epic retelling of the story of the most famous Roman emperor, Julius Caesar, Deadline reports.
The plot will follow Caesar as a young general on his departure to Spain and will conclude with him as the new leader of the Roman Empire. There is talk of a sequel that will cover his later life, including his time in Egypt.
The film will be written by Chris Boal, who wrote a play about Caesar titled 23 Knives, and directed by Jonathan Liebesman (Battle Los Angeles). Basil Iwanyk (The Town, The Expendables) is set to produce.
Liebesman and Iwanyk will also partner for Clash of the Titans 2, which is due out in 2012.
