New York Provides Music Festival for Foodies
Thankfully, music festivals have been stepping up their game when it comes to supplying a variety of food options beyond the typical spread of pizza and corndogs.
From Coachella to Bonnaroo, sleep-deprived attendees have benefited from the public’s recent fascination with all things food trucks, bombarded with choices ranging from Middle Eastern to vegan cuisine. But even though delectable treats have become a welcomed aspect of the weekend long concert, the concept of restaurant quality cuisine is still considered an afterthought compared to the main event—until now.
New York’s Escape to New York festival is a three day event that seeks to provide attendees the staple experience of checking out live music, with the added plus of luxurious cocktails and gourmet treats. In addition (with a corresponding high-end price-tag), the event is also offering the option of “glamping,” which provides day campers with the more glamorous option of camping in imported teepees and safari tents, complete with high-end linens, beauty and wellness offerings, lounge furniture and, of course, food options that range from lobster to ceviche. No worries, bellboys and masseuses are also on call.
The event’s manifesto reads,
Escape to New York is a special event unlike anything the east coast has experienced before with installations and performance art, experimental theatre, high-end glamourous camping “Glamping,” the world’s biggest brunch at a live music festival, and amazing culinary delights. Enjoy the festivities, beautiful landscape, traditional Shinnecock arts and crafts, food curated by Silkstone NYC, and three days and nights of some of the best music from new artists and iconic acts, throughout the day and evening. This is a party not to be missed!
Acts performing at this year’s Escape to New York festival, which will take place on the grounds of the Shinnecock Indian reservation in Southampton, N.Y, include, Patti Smith, Best Coast, Of Montreal, Chairlift and many more.
