Noel Gallagher Announces Two Solo Albums

Noel Gallagher Announces Two Solo Albums

Those Gallagher brothers always seem to be bickering. Although Oasis split in 2009, it seems Liam and Noel can’t put the past behind them.

Now Liam isn’t the only brother with a new musical outlet: Noel might have upped the sibling rivalry with the announcement of his solo career.

Noel’s debut album, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds will drop Oct. 17 in the UK and Nov. 8 in America, and he already has another record prepared for release in 2012.

There’s good news for Oasis fans. In a press conference today, Noel said “The album lasts for 46 minutes and 12 seconds, so I will play some Oasis songs. They’re my songs and I wrote them on my own. I’m proud of them and I’m proud of where they sit with what I’ve done now. I don’t think I’d ever do a gig without playing them.”

The two brothers haven’t stayed quiet about much in recent years, and today they spoke out about the reason for Oasis’ break up.

Noel said that the band broke up after he and Liam physically brawled over Liam’s desire to use Oasis to promote his clothing line. The altercation involved plums being thrown and guitars as weapons. He said Liam stormed at him carrying his guitar like an axe.

“He nearly took my face off with (the guitar)… I didn’t think it was right for him to be flogging his gear to our fans. There was a massive row about that.”

How is Liam handling all new developments? We’ve only seen one thing on his Twitter since the announcements: “SHIT BAG.”
