Party Down Movie A Possibility

There’s been a serving tray-sized hole in our hearts ever since Starz pulled the plug on Party Down. But now, there is new hope. Everybody’s favorite catering squad might return to the screen with a full-length film.

The Huffington Post reported that show creator Rob Thomas spoke out about the movie during a recent Party Down marathon at the Alamo Drafthouse.

“People are talking to us about doing a Party Down movie,” Thomas said. “We are pretty far down the deal-making process with that, so we’re hopeful that there will be a Party Down movie. Ideally, if it works out we could be shooting in television hiatus time next spring. Hopefully that deal will close, and we’ll all tweet about it when it does.”

The possibility of the continuance of the Party Down saga is proof that dreams really do come true. According to The AV Club, the movie may begin shooting as early as spring 2012. Mitch Hurwitz, catch up!
