Paste mPlayer Issue #3

This week’s issue features one of our favorite bands, My Morning Jacket. Paste editor-at-large Jay Sweet has stalked their progress so closely these last seven years that we’re thankful Jim James hasn’t tried to get a restraining order. In a 4,500-word story that spans 13 encounters in five cities, Sweet is the fly on the MMJ wall, giving us an inside look at how the band worked its way up through the ranks to become one of this summer’s biggest festival acts.

We also have stories on Death Cab for Cutie, the new documentary on A Tribe Called Quest, Syfy’s new series Alphas and a video of The Ramones in 1978. In addition to My Morning Jacket, this week’s sampler features Those Darlins, Ezra Furman, The Dodos, WU LYF, The Head and the Heart and William Elliott Whitmore. Check it all out here or by clicking on the cover image below.

Also, last week many of you asked for us to remove the “sign in” feature as a mandatory step for reading mPlayer, and we have (sign-in still required for downloading Sampler tracks). Please continue to give us feedback and we will continue to improve our digital magazine.
