Pharrell Creates a Working Woman's Liquor
Justin Vernon and Pharrell Williams apparently learned a lot from their women’s studies degrees. As we know, Vernon writes romantic poetry, and now Williams has developed his own vodka-infused liquor that he says is specifically designed for the working woman.
Williams told AllHipHop “Qream was created for contemporary women who work hard and want to relax with friends at the end of the day… I want them to reward themselves ‘deliciously.’ Women make up half the population, and Qream is about celebrating that power.”
Sounds like he’s got the right idea: He claims the liqueur has fewer calories than a glass of red wine. The drink will be available in peach and strawberry and is set to launch later this month.
He is working with Diageo, a company that’s part-owner with “Diddy” and his Ciroc Vodka brand.
“We expect Pharrell Williams’ unique perspective, coupled with his alliance with Diageo, will help Qream set a new standard as the beverage women choose to honor themselves and their accomplishments,” Anna MacDonald, director of liqueurs marketing at Diageo said in a statement.
Diageo also represents other popular names in the adult beverage industry—Johnnie Walker, Crown Royal, Ketel One, Captain Morgan, Jose Cuervo, Tanqueray and Guinness.
