Watch The Dark Knight Rises Trailer

Last Friday, audiences everywhere witnessed the end of a major movie franchise. But this time, we’re not talking about Harry Potter.

The first official teaser trailer for The Dark Knight Rises, which marks “the epic conclusion to the Dark Knight legend,” hit theaters.

The clip opens with Ra’s al Ghul (Liam Neeson) narrating the beginning of Bruce Wayne’s journey to become the Dark Knight. We also see Commissioner Gordon (Gary Oldman) lying in a hospital bed, as well as flashes of the villain Bane (Tom Hardy).

Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises, which stars Neeson, Oldman, Hardy, Christian Bale, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Anne Hathaway and Marion Cotillard, is set to release July 20, 2012.
