At this point in his career, it should come as no surprise that Sufjan Stevens is a man of many talents. And now, the prolific singer-songwriter, who is also an avid knitter, filmmaker and composer, has revealed that he is also skilled in the art of animation.
For anyone who had the opportunity to catch Stevens during his tour in support of his latest record, the sprawling and electronic _The Age of Adz, the paper-cut animation featured in the clip for the track, “Get Real Get Right,” should look fairly familiar—similar reels were used as backdrop during the artist’s performance.
The video, which was directed by Stevens and edited by Deborah Johnson, features the art of Royal RobertsonRobertson, who Stevens has said was a major inspiration for Adz.
