Abigail Breslin to Star in Dark Indie Drama The Class Project

Academy Award nominee Abigail Breslin, the plucky star of 2006’s much-acclaimed Little Miss Sunshine and 2009’s zombie-themed romantic comedy Zombieland, has signed on to a new, much darker role as leading lady in the upcoming indie drama The Class Project.

The film is an adaptation of Toronto Star reporter Bob Mitchell’s 2008 book The Class Project: How to Kill a Mother: The True Story of Canada’s Infamous Bathtub Girls, which highlighted the case of two young sisters who plotted to kill their mother after becoming fed up with her alcoholism and abusive boyfriends. Their crime went undiscovered for over a year.

The film will be directed by Stan Brooks with a script by Fabrizio Filippo and Adam Till.
