Breaking Bad Renewed for Fifth and Final Season

Breaking Bad Renewed for Fifth and Final Season

With Breaking Bad only a few weeks into its fourth season, AMC has announced that they will be picking up the show for one final year.

According to Entertainment Weekly, AMC will give the critically acclaimed show 16 episodes to come to a conclusion, however it is unsure at this point if these episodes will be split into two smaller seasons.

“It’s a funny irony — I’d hate to know the date of my own last day on earth, but I’m delighted to know what Walter White’s will be (episodically speaking)” said the show’s creator Vince Gilligan. “This is a great gift to me and to my wonderful writers. It’s knowledge which will allows us to properly build our story to a satisfying conclusion.”

This announcement comes on the heels of Breaking Bad considering going to another network and disagreements over the renewals of fellow AMC programs Mad Men and The Walking Dead.

While Breaking Bad has received series high ratings this season, fans will surely anticipate seeing the conclusion to the story of TV’s favorite meth cook.
