Cass McCombs to Release New Album in November

The creative, nomadic spirit of Cass McCombs has grown restless once again: Nov. 8 will mark the release of the singer-songwriter’s sixth full-length album, Humor Risk.

It’s also his second release this year alone, following April’s Wit’s End.

McCombs’ subject matter is often pained and cynical—but as its title would imply, Humor Risk will mix in a more lighthearted lyrical tone, with an emphasis on lifestyles and cultures of other people. The music will represent a shift in dynamic from the forlorn quiet of Wit’s End and is said to feature upbeat, less introspective rhythms and tempos.
