Deerhoof Release Single with Jeff Tweedy and Sons

If you haven’t been keeping up with the experimental rockers of Deerhoof, their latest project has them enlisting various artists to sing over instrumental versions of songs from their last LP, Deerhoof vs. Evil. Past collaborations have included Busdriver and Xiu Xiu, but this latest entry features some quality father-son bonding.

Wilco frontman Jeff Tweedy takes the mic for “Behold a Raccoon in the Darkness,” the A-side featuring the instrumental of Deerhoof’s “Behold a Marvel in the Darkness.”

For the B-side, however, Tweedy debuts “Own It,” the first song from his new side-project with his sons, Sam and Spencer. They call themselves The Raccoonists, and their new tune has a little music video featuring a bunch of conductors and some raccoons.

Order the single over at Polyvinyl Records’ site, and watch the video for “Own It” below.
