Jani Lane: 1964-2011

Jani Lane, the former lead singer of ’80s hair metal band Warrant, has passed away at the age of 47.

Lane’s body was discovered yesterday in a Los Angeles hotel. The cause of death is unknown at this time.

The rocker enjoyed success in the ‘80s with Warrant, recording hits like “Heaven” and “Down Boys.” He’s perhaps best known for the single “Cherry Pie” and its less-than-subtle music video. Lane was also recently a contestant on VH1’s Celebrity Fit Club.
