Keira Knightley may be adding another period piece to her resume. After a string of successful dramas like Atonement and Pride and Prejudice, the star has been linked to a new spin on Romeo and Juliet called Rosaline.
The film is being adapted by Days of Summer scribes Scott Neustader and Michael H. Weber from an upcoming novel by Rebecca Serle entitled When You Were Mine. This take on the classic tragedy follows Romeo’s original love, Rosaline, and her relationship with Romeo’s cousin, Benvolio.
The talks with Knightley are in the very early stages and though nothing is official, Fox Searchlight is reportedly pushing for her due to her fame and her ability to play characters in a period drama.
