Matthew McConaughey To Play Former Stripper in Soderbergh Film
It’s been a joke for years, the idea that Matthew McConaughey can’t keep his shirt on during his films. So it’s no surprise that McConaughey has signed on to the Steven Soderbergh film Magic Mike, where he will be playing the ex-stripper Dallas, according to Variety.
Dallas is the owner of the club Xquisite, where “Magic Mike,” portrayed by Channing Tatum, strips and becomes an advisor to a new stripper, played by Alex Pettyfer. The film is loosely based on Tatum’s time working as an exotic dancer when he was younger.
The film is one of many films that the supposedly retiring Soderbergh currently has in the works. In addition to releasing two films this year along with Magic Mike, Soderbergh also is in line to direct a film version of the ’60s TV show The Man from U.N.C.L.E. and Liberace, which will star Michael Douglas as the notorious pianist.
