Asheville, N.C.’s Moogfest, which this year boasts an already impressive lineup that includes The Flaming Lips, Passion Pit, Umphrey’s McGee and Tangerine Dream, just added a few more big names to the bill.
Among the most prominent additions are Brooklyn’s beloved TV On The Radio, rising stars The Drums, St. Vincent, and experimental DJ/Adult Swim bumper-music-maker Flying Lotus.
But the the biggest surprise is a “Special Disco Version” set by James Murphy and Pat Mahoney of the now-defunct LCD Soundsystem. Fans may still bemoan the sudden end of the popular dance group, but the fact that Murphy is still putting out music on the road should come as a welcome sigh of relief.
The annual festival will take place the weekend of Oct. 28-30. View the other new additions as well as the full lineup here.
