Patti Smith Memoir To Be Adapted Into Screenplay
Patti Smith will be adapting her memoir Just Kids, with the help of screenwriter John Logan, in hopes of turning the book into a film, according to Deadline.
Just Kids details Smith’s relationship with Robert Mapplethorpe, the photographer who would take the famous cover to her Horses album. The two lived together for year in New York City as they both grew in popularity. The book won last year’s National Book Award for Non-fiction.
Logan, who has been nominated for Oscars for his Gladiator and The Aviator screenplays, recently wrote the adaptation for Martin Scorsese’s upcoming Hugo.
