Earlier today Sony Computer Entertainment issued a press release detailing the full technological specifications of their upcoming Playstation Vita handheld gaming console and confirming the social media services that will be fully integrated with the device at launch: Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare and Skype.
The release is mostly confirmation of what people following the device have already known—such as the addition of the right-hand side control stick, back touch panel, front and rear cameras and lack of any UMD or other proprietary physical media slots. The info also dispels rumors like a supposed decrease in the originally announced amount of physical memory (it’s still 512 MB of main memory with 128 MB of VRAM) and gives exact numbers for the touch screen and external body dimensions.
