Stephen King is writing yet another novella. The horror writer released five last year, but has yet to put out one this year—that is, until Mile 81 is released on Sept. 1. It will be released exclusively as an e-book and not be made available in print.
The story will take place at an abandoned rest stop located at Mile 81 on the Maine Turnpike and will follow a child named Pete trying to figure out why everyone has mysteriously died while he was passed out. Only two other children and a horse are alive.
Simon and Schuster stated that it has the “heart of The Body [source of the hit movie, Stand By Me] and the genius horror of Christine.”
