In preparation for their forthcoming eighth album The Whole Love, Wilco hasn’t been too secretive with the process. They’ve offered up lead single “I Might” and its B-side, a cover of Nick Lowe’s “I Love My Label.” More recently, they also released a behind-the-scenes video where they debuted “Art of Almost,” and have torn through live renditions of “Born Alone” and “Dawned on Me” in recent concerts.
In an interview and photo shoot with St. Louis Magazine, Tweedy reworked “Dawned on Me” into an acoustic solo performance. The stripped-down setting is a much more plaintive affair than the uptempo, energetic full-band version (though the whistling remains intact).
