Watch the Beach Boys’ SMiLE Sessions Preview

Brian Wilson had to go through a mental breakdown and wait nearly four decades before his masterpiece, Smile, saw the light of day—Wilson completed the album under his own name in 2004. A release from Capitol Records will shed some light on the process behind the beloved, Beach Boys cult classic. A preview for the Beach Boys’ Smile Sessions box set was released on the band’s YouTube page today, which gives some details on the album.

The box set is massive; it includes a 3D cover with original art by Frank Holmes, five CDs that include outtakes, two vinyl singles (“Heroes and Villains,” “Vega-Tables”), two vinyl LPs of the album, the original proposed booklet for the album, a 60-page case-bound book that contains a complete sessionography of the Smile sessions, and a poster of the original art.

You can watch the preview below.
