As the war over video streaming continues, Amazon is quickly becoming a force to be reckoned with. Amazon Prime has just announced that they’ve signed a deal with Fox that will bring their total amount of TV shows and movies to 11,000. The partnership with Fox will bring TV shows like 24, Arrested Development, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The X-Files to Amazon Prime members for the first time for unlimited stream.
According to a posting on the Amazon Prime website, the deal also includes bringing The Wonder Years to digital video for the first time ever. For many, the beloved late-’80s/early-’90s family sitcom will be enough to convert Netflix users to Amazon’s service. Amazon Prime has also confirmed that their Prime membership will still remain at $79 a year (or just under $7 a month).
