As if prequels don’t have a bad reputation as is, CW announced yesterday their intent to close a deal on a script for an upcoming show called The Carrie Diaries. Because we’ve all wondered at some point how Carrie got to where she was in Sex in the City, _The Carrie Diaries_will detail Carrie’s final year in high school in the ‘80s and the internship that brings her to New York City.
According to Hollywood Report, if the script were to go to pilot and then to series, the show would premiere in fall 2012 with Gossip Girl producers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage at the helm. But apparently not everyone is as excited for the project as CW. Michael Patrick King, the man behind the original show, stated that “the idea of going backwards and making her less involved… is something that I don’t imagine doing,” adding “I don’t even want to know who Carrie Bradshaw’s parents were.”
You’re not alone, Michael.
