Ricky Gervais’ tenure as host of the Golden Globes may not be over. The raunchy British comedian was asked to host the upcoming award ceremony even though he received more backlash than praise after last year’s jokes were viewed more as attacks.
Gervais took to his blog to say, “The TV show organizers said they were happy with everything and asked me to not rule out a third gig.”
The star, however, has mixed feelings about returning to the Globes. He felt that too many celebrities were uptight about the jokes he made last year and that he was underappreciated. Instead he feels there is a different option.
“What do you think of this?” Gervais blogged, “A live 3 hour podcast during The Golden Globes. Me and a few chums (like Louis CK, Chris Rock, Karl Pilkington, Jon Stewart, Larry David popping in and out) doing our own alternative commentary.”
The 69th Golden Globes will be broadcast by NBC on Jan. 15.
