After an unusually lengthy searching process, 20th Century Fox and actor Bruce Willis have finally decided on director John Moore (The Omen, Behind Enemy Lines) to helm the upcoming fifth installment in the surprisingly resilient Die Hard series, Deadline reports.
Previously Noam Murro was set to direct the film, but withdrew after getting the job to direct the 300 prequel, 300: Battle of Artemisia. While Moore was an easy sell to the studio, he had to work hard to convince Willis, who’s been consistently particular about the Die Hard directors. According to Deadline, Moore managed to sway the seasoned star, through his “love for the John McClane character, and his grasp of how to shoot practical, non-CGI-heavy action scenes that have been a hallmark of the Die Hard series.”
Die Hard 5 will be see John McClane and his son traveling to Russia, where the movie will be set and filmed.
