Kal Penn's New Comedy Set in United Nations
It looks like Kal Penn’s time in the White House has influenced the actor’s Hollywood ambitions. Penn has a new project for NBC set in the United Nations. He will play an assistant to the U.S. Ambassador. Raphael Bob-Waksberg will write the pilot for the comedy with Penn likely using his own experiences as story arcs. Scot Armstrong and Ravi Nandan have been tapped to be executive producers on the project.
The workplace comedy will follow the likes of other NBC hits by utilizing the single-camera approach. This would put the show in the category of fan and critic favorites The Office, 30 Rock and Parks and Recreation.
