NBC Wins Portia de Rossi's New Comedy After Bidding War

Portia de Rossi and wife Ellen DeGeneres have teamed up to produce a sitcom about sisters who don’t particularly get along. The show sparked a bidding war among the major networks, but sitcom king NBC, won out in the end.

It will be a multi-camera comedy, much like The Office or 30 Rock and star Arrested Development alumna de Rossi in the lead role. DeGeneres’ production company, A Very Good Production, will produce along with Warner Bros. Former Samantha Who? co-creator Don Todd will write the pilot script.

NBC appears to be on a streak of picking up potential hits, as they recently won rights to Sarah Silverman’s new project as well.
